2011 — Medica-Lab fully furnishes Assiut University Hospitals
In 2011, Medica-Lab® completed the full furnishing of Assiut University Hospitals, one of the largest university medical complexes in Upper Egypt and a major teaching and referral centre for the region. The scope covered in-patient beds, examination couches, transport trolleys and general ward furniture, produced at the company's factory in Badr City, operating since 1994.
A university hospital is a demanding proving ground. Equipment is used around the clock by rotating clinical staff and students, and it rarely gets a quiet week to recover. Furnishing Assiut meant supplying products built for that pace — reliable castors and locking mechanisms, upholstery suited to a busy ward, and furniture that clinical teams could depend on without a lengthy break-in period.
More than a decade later, that installation remains a reference point inside the company: a working example of how equipment performs under continuous teaching-hospital use, not just in a showroom. It also reflects the scale Medica-Lab has served since its founding in 1984 — hospitals, clinics and health authorities across Egypt, long before manufacturing expanded into Saudi Arabia.
Today, that same manufacturing base — now certified to ISO 13485:2016 and, since 2022, extended with a second factory in Madinah, Saudi Arabia — has furnished more than 400 health units across the region. Assiut was one of the projects that shaped how the range is built.
