FAQ

What is the Restiva Spectrum multi-zone mattress, and how does it differ from a standard foam mattress?

The Restiva Spectrum is a non-powered multi-zone mattress: its surface targets pressure redistribution to different areas of the body and adapts to different zones and body types, to support comfort during extended immobility. A standard foam mattress, such as our Restiva Flux, is high-density elastic foam without a multi-zone design.

Is a maximum patient weight published for this Restiva mattress?

The Restiva Spectrum mattress is rated for patients up to 200 kg, the published limit for this mattress. Check this figure alongside the bed's own safe working load: if you are placing it on a bariatric bed rated higher than 200 kg, confirm with us that the combination suits the patient's weight before you order.

Does the Restiva Spectrum need electricity, or is it an air mattress?

No. The Restiva Spectrum is a non-powered mattress with no pump or motor: its zones are built into the mattress itself, not air cells that inflate and deflate. A power cut does not affect it, and there is no pump noise at night. It is not an air or alternating-pressure mattress; if your patient's care plan calls for a powered air mattress, discuss it with their clinical team.

What sizes does the Restiva Spectrum come in, and will it fit our bed?

The Restiva Spectrum comes in two sizes, 190×90×14 cm and 200×90×14 cm, with the same multi-zone design in both. Both are 90 cm wide to fit PRIME care and MEDcare beds directly; for another make of bed, check its deck length and width before ordering.

How do I choose between the Restiva Spectrum and the other Restiva mattresses?

Choose by construction, and let the patient's clinical team confirm the choice against the care plan. Spectrum's multi-zone surface targets pressure redistribution by body area. Flux is high-density elastic foam, Mosaic uses independently rotating cubes, Frost has a 3 cm cooling-gel memory-foam top layer, and Titan combines a honeycomb airflow layer with gel pads over a high-density foam base. See the full Restiva range.

Is the Restiva Spectrum mattress cover waterproof?

Yes, the Restiva Spectrum cover is waterproof, which helps protect the foam core from fluid ingress during normal ward use. The cover material and cleaning instructions are not yet published beyond that; contact us if you need either confirmed for an infection-control procedure before you order.
