An electric hospital bed moves positioning from the crank to a handset: the backrest, the leg-rest and, on multi-function and ICU models, the platform height and clinical positions. HOSPIcare builds electric medical beds in its own factories in Madinah, Saudi Arabia and Badr City, Egypt, under ISO 13485:2016. Saudi-made beds carry the Saudi Made mark under SFDA licence ML-2023-MD-0885. The range covers the three-function PRIME care MLP-02, the multi-function MLP-01, the F5 medical bed and the MEDcare Santron ICU family, all supplied new, with installation, staff handover and locally held spare parts.

Three-Function PRIME care Bed (MLP-02)
Three-function electric medical bed on a 200 × 90 cm platform, 78 cm high, with silent braked castors, removable ABS head and foot panels and a stainless steel IV pole. Options: backup battery, CPR system, radiolucent backrest, under-bed lighting, bed extension and central braking.
Multi-Functional PRIME care Bed (MLP-01)
Multi-function electric positioning on the same 200 × 90 cm platform at 81 cm height, with high-endurance silent castors and strong brakes, removable ABS panels, stainless steel IV pole and protective bumpers. The same option list applies, from backup battery to central braking.
F5 Medical Bed (MLH-01)
Electric patient control for head, knees and height; nurse panel with lockouts, cardiac chair, Trendelenburg, auto-contour and CPR control; side rails with integrated controls; central braking; rechargeable backup battery. Supplied with a 14 cm pressure-reducing mattress. On the NUPCO framework NPT0027-24.
Santron Hospital Bed (SANTRON)
The flagship electric ICU bed: 215 × 95 cm, height 45–75 cm, with flat, cardiac chair, Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg positioning, integrated X-ray cassette holder, central braking with directional lock and under-bed lighting. On the NUPCO framework NPT0027-24.
Santron Pro ICU Bed (SANTRON PRO)
The advanced Santron configuration adds an integrated weighing scale, a digital nurse control panel with display, a footboard display screen and a bed-exit alarm with low-position indicator. Same 215 × 95 cm frame; supplied against direct tenders, not on the NUPCO framework.
Electric medical bed functions: what the handset controls
Function count is the first line of any electric bed specification. A three-function electric hospital bed such as the MLP-02 gives three powered positioning movements; the MLP-01 is specified as multi-function. On the F5, the patient handset controls head, knees and up/down, while the nurse panel adds cardiac chair, Trendelenburg, auto-contour, lockouts and CPR control. The Santron ICU beds add reverse Trendelenburg, bed entry and exit positions and a flat examination position. If your tender is written around a five-function electric bed, send us the wording and we will confirm which model meets each function.
Electric hospital beds for hospitals: power, safety and service
Electric beds run on mains power; the F5 adds a rechargeable backup battery as standard, and the PRIME care electric platform offers a backup battery, CPR system and central braking as options. Side rails, radiolucent backrests and under-bed lighting are specified per ward. After delivery, our own service teams handle assembly, positioning and staff handover, and carry out warranty work in Saudi Arabia and Egypt: two years on the structure and mechanism, one year on electrical components and actuators. Spare parts are held locally for at least ten years after a model is discontinued.

Medica-Lab Group was founded in 1984 in Egypt by Dr Hesham Swilam; the Badr City factory opened in 1994 and the Madinah factory in 2022, when HOSPIcare production was localised in the Kingdom. Both plants build the full range of electric hospital beds, so Saudi hospitals are supplied from Madinah and Egyptian hospitals from Badr City, and the group exports to more than 15 countries. What is the difference between a 3-function and a 5-function electric hospital bed?
A three-function electric bed such as the MLP-02 powers three positioning movements. Specifications that ask for five functions typically list ICU-level positioning: on the F5 and the Santron family this covers the head and knee sections, height, cardiac chair and Trendelenburg, with reverse Trendelenburg and bed entry and exit positions on the Santron. Send us the tender wording and we confirm the match function by function.
Do electric medical beds work during a power cut?
The F5 (MLH-01) runs on mains power with a rechargeable backup battery as standard. On the PRIME care electric platform (MLP-01, MLP-02) a backup battery is an option, alongside the CPR system and central braking. Specify it at order stage and it is fitted in the factory before shipment.

HOSPIcare is NUPCO-registered in Saudi Arabia under supplier code 401663, with 33 line items awarded on framework NPT0027-24 for medical furniture, including the F5 (MLH-01) and MEDcare Santron electric beds. Where are the electric beds manufactured?
In our factory in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, licensed by the SFDA as a local manufacturer (ML-2023-MD-0885) with products carrying the Saudi Made mark, and in our factory in Badr City, Egypt. Both work under ISO 13485:2016 and each builds the full range: the Saudi plant for the Saudi market and the Egyptian plant for the Egyptian market.
What is the lead time for electric hospital beds?
Standard configurations from stock ship within 2–3 weeks. Made-to-order quantities for a full ward or hospital project typically take 6–10 weeks from confirmed order, depending on volume and finish. We confirm a firm date in writing with every quotation, and delivery includes assembly, positioning and a handover session for staff.
Can an electric bed be customised to our tender specification?
Yes. Upholstery colour, side-rail type, castor size, mattress specification and branding can all be adjusted, and factory options such as the backup battery, radiolucent backrest and bed extension added. For tender requirements that differ from our standard range, send us the technical specification and we will confirm what we can build.
